Celosia Flamingo Feather
Celosia 'Flamingo Feather'
One of the prettiest celosias around, ‘Flamingo Feather’ has airy delicate pink plumes that fade to blush as they age. Also called wheat celosia, this treasure reminds us of pink Bunnytails grass. These strongly branching, heat loving plants are smothered in soft pink, feathery plumes that look great in bouquets and wedding work.
Plant type: annual
Site: full sun
Days to maturity: 90-100 days
Plant spacing: 12-18”
Pinch: when 6-8” tall
Approx seeds per packet: 100
How to Grow:
Start seed indoors in trays 4-6 weeks before last frost; transplant out after all danger of frost has passed.
Flower heads get bigger over time, so pick when they are the size that you want, but before they go to seed. Strip 80% of the foliage off during harvest. Celosias are a long lasting cut flower oftentimes lasting over 2 weeks. Flowers can also be dried for later use. Hang freshly cut stems upside down in a warm dark place for 2-3 weeks or until they are firm to the touch.
