Product Description

Celosia Fruit Punch
Celosia argentea var. cristata

Grown for their unique textural blooms, celosias are vigorous and free-flowering. A summer cutting garden workhorse, they thrive in hot and dry conditions. This special mix from our breeding program includes fan-shaped blooms in shades of magenta, rose, salmon and apricot. Towering plants have a branching habit and will churn out buckets of velvety flower heads for the better part of summer.

Details:
Plant type: annual
Height: 36-48”
Site: full sun
Days to maturity: 90-110 days
Plant spacing: 12-18”
Pinch: when 6-8” tall
Approx seeds per packet: 100

How to Grow:
Start seed indoors in trays 4-6 weeks before last frost; transplant out after all danger of frost has passed.

Harvesting/Vase Life:
Flower heads get bigger over time so pick when they are the size that you want, but before they go to seed. Strip 80 percent of the foliage off during harvest. Celosias are a long-lasting cut flower oftentimes lasting over 2 weeks. Flowers can also be dried for later use. Hang freshly cut stems upside down in a warm dark place for 2-3 weeks or until they are firm to the touch.
