Breadseed Poppy Peony Flowered Mix
Breadseed Poppy 'Peony Flowered Mix'
As delicate as crumpled tissue bathed in a palette of crimson, violet, rose, cranberry and white, this stunning poppy resembles a full blown peony with its dramatic, ruffled flower heads. Stems snake and nod under the weight of the massive blooms. Grown primarily for their decorative seed pods, Breadseed poppies are easy to grow and make a wonderful addition to any garden.
Plant type: annual
Site: full sun
Days to maturity: 80-90 days
Plant spacing: 12”
Pinch: not necessary

How to Grow:
Breadseed poppies resent transplanting and do best when direct sown. Plant directly into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Slugs love them, so keep an eye out.
The flowers of this variety of poppy aren’t particularly long lasting. Cut flowers last just 2-3 days in the vase if you’re lucky. Harvest when ½ open and sear the bottom end in boiling water for 7-10 seconds. Seed pods can be dried and used indefinitely.
