Product Description

This seed is packed for the 2023 growing season. If stored in a cool, dry place, seeds can keep for 2 to 3 years.

Celosia Texas Plume Vintage Rose Mix
Celosia plumosa

The original stock for this coveted celosia came from famed Texas flower farmers Pamela and Frank Arnosky. Years ago we were gifted the tiniest pinch of seed which we’ve slowly grown out and increased over time. This mix is a blend of blush, pewter and sunbleached velvet set against striking dark foliage. It’s heartbreakingly beautiful. We’re so excited to finally share this treasured variety with gardeners all over the world.

Details:
Plant type: annual
Height: 36-48”
Site: full sun
Days to maturity: 90-100 days
Plant spacing: 12”
Pinch: when 6-8”
Approx seeds per packet: 100

How to Grow:
Start seed indoors in trays 4-6 weeks before last frost; transplant out after all danger of frost has passed.

Harvesting/Vase Life:
Flower heads get bigger over time, so pick when they are the size that you want, but before they go to seed. Strip 80 percent of the foliage off during harvest. Celosias are a long lasting cut flower, oftentimes lasting over 2 weeks. Flowers can also be dried for later use. Hang freshly cut stems upside down in a warm dark place for 2-3 weeks or until they are firm to the touch.

Once an order has been placed, we cannot add or subtract items. If you would like additional items not included in your original order, please place a new order. We are unable to combine separately placed orders.
