Pansy Viola Tiger Eye
Viola ‘Tiger Eye’
We’ve never seen a viola quite like ‘Tiger Eye,’ with its striking rusty and gold petals marked by pronounced veining. Planted en masse, this unique variety creates a glowing effect. When we polled our customers, we were surprised by their passionate response in favor of this fun novelty.
Plant type: annual
Site: full sun
Days to maturity: 60-70 days
Plant spacing: 6”
Pinch: not necessary
Approx seeds per packet: 25
How to Grow:
Start seed indoors in trays 8-12 weeks before last frost. Seeds require darkness to germinate so lightly cover. Violas can withstand light frost, so cold climate gardeners can pick a transplant date that is about 2 weeks before the last frost date.
Pick when flowers are starting to open. A vase life of 5-7 days can be expected with flower food. Stems lengthen over time.

How to Grow
Pansies and Violas for Cut Flowers
Last year I started seeing pansies being used more frequently in bouquets by designers who are either growing their own flowers or have access to a really high end flower market.
